I want to incorporate this pattern into various details of the wedding and sort of make it the theme. The background paper in this photo: http://www.scrapbooking101.net/articles/img/Girl.jpg
Do you think this is a good idea? Any suggestions on ways to use the pattern throughout the wedding or reception? I like the antique details but I want to blend it with a modern fresh look as well.
here is another picture of the paper: http://www.paperwishes.com/scripts/img.php?partnumber=20138&height=288&sharpen=1&
I’m having an impossible time finding it in any fabrics!
it’s your wedding….do what you want you want and don’t worry about others opinion . you will regret it if you don’t do the wedding your way!
See if you can find this pattern in some fabric, it would make a beautiful table runner. I think an entire tablecloth would be too much, make it too busy, but a runner would be lovely. then the linen napkins in that same color blue. Very nice!
You could get this paper and make your guest book out of it. You could get candles on the table and wrap a piece of the paper around the candles to add the detail. I am not sure what else you are doing in the wedding otherwise I would give you more ideas.
you can use it as place cards for your guests. You can print out the precession of your ceremony on that paper. If your having a sit down meal you can write the menu on it and place it in a frame on the table. If your having a buffet then you can write the name of the food near each dish.
That’s pretty i like it!!
I think it’s a beautiful pattern and you should definitely go for it.
The only concern is that you say you want to make it look fresh and modern, and it’s a very old-fashioned, traditional pattern.
I would start with using it on your invitations if you haven’t ordered them already. I would design them very similarly to that scrapbooking page, but use modern (sans serif) fonts and designs. This design is very contemporary:

You can carry that same theme into the ceremony programs and dinner menus as well. If your budget allows, find a graphic designer who specializes in invitation design and tell them what you want to use.
As far as decor, take the pattern to the florist, and say that you want flowers that exude a modern tone, but match the colors of that pattern. The florist might use a lot of soft blues with creams and whites. I would use small, contained centerpieces like this to keep the look modern:

Overall, I think the best way to use that pattern is to keep the blue and cream color scheme and add touches of the flower pattern here and there. It will be beautiful (I love that color!). If you feel overwhelmed and can afford it, hire a wedding planner who specializes in event design, and he/she won’t let you down! Good luck … it will look beautiful.
cute pattern! it would be especially nicer if the pattern is meaningful to the 2 of you… you can use this as background for seat cards, or in the souvenirs. you can also make use of it as background for the picture montage…. you can do so many things with it, just go with what you (both of you, that is) want to have in your wedding.
in our wedding we used a pattern (well, almost anyway) in the souvenirs, video montage and the missalettes (spell?).
all the best in your wedding, but most especially in your life together!
I think that you should do what feels best to you. Make the wedding about all that YOU are, and celebrate your love. You could find a designer to help. We went through http://www.tekeme.com and they designed everything for so cheap. It was like 50% off and I think it still is, for all wedding stuff. And they help with coordinating your entire wedding, as cheap as possible, into everything you want.
Just make sure you don’t get too caught up in everything like that. Make it about YOUR LOVE!
)
Good luck!
its very..different. Orignal!, but different!
Its your wedding, whatever makes you happy.
Lovely. Check out a Quilter’s supply on line. Your blue and white Cabbage rose looks like a fabric called chintz. Waverly Fabric’s had similar pattern. A table runner on a white tablecloth, same color blue glass vases (modern look)with white cabbage roses.(fresh or silk) down center of table,if money is no problem, cover the chairs of the Wedding Party table. Simplicty should still have this pattern, hope your bridesmaids can sew.Works on simple metal or wood chairs, look in Pattern catalog under accessories at your fabric store, they may even help you with ideas. Guest could have the blue vase and Cabbage rose at thier tables, A blue and white candle arrangement using glass found at craft stores, like sea glass.marbles etc.with the flowers. Hope your day is the happiest.
That seems like you should be able to find that in fabrics. I have seen that before. Check Joann fabrics. They may be able to order it for you.
Here are some similar ones I have found.

You could even mimic the design in your wedding cake. I wouldn’t use it all over, but a cascade of these flowers or just a few scattered about could pull the whole thing together.
