I recently wore my grandmother’s satin wedding gown and unfortunately got blue ink from a stamp pad on it. What is the best way to clean 75 year old satin without damaging it further? The dress itself is very simple.
I don’t want to dry clean because it’s so harsh.

Check about and find a dry cleaner who specializes in wedding dresses. If you live in a small town you may have to go to a bigger one to find what you need.
Leave that one to a pro…the last thing you would want to do would be to make it worse. As a rule aerosol hairspray works well, hold a towel behind the fabric and spray. The stain should transfer to the towel behind it. You will need to blot it and do it more than 1 time.
