I have an A-line wedding gown that needs to be pressed and I was given a quote for $200. This seems very high, but other places won’t give me quotes without seeing the dress. It is a silk material and does not have a lot of detail, but it does have a small train. Anyone have an idea of how much this costs?
Take where they have insurance in case they ruin your gown. No matter what the cost. Of if it is a new gown take it to the place of purchase – they may do it free.
I would shop around, I got mine pressed and stuffed (to hold shape) for 75, but it was an independent dress shop that did it, try all sorts of different places, many of the discount cleaners will press/steam it for you and do not cost an arm and leg.
The boutique where I bought mine steamed it for free two days before my wedding. If you bought yours at a boutique, bring it there and ask. If you didn’t, try calling one in your area and ask if they’ll do it for a small fee. I think $200 is ridiculous. I have no idea what it should cost, but that doesn’t seem right to me. Also, ask seamstresses and tailors in your area for what they think it should cost!
I was just in David’s Bridal last week and they were running a special for $99.
mine will be $99 from Davids bridal!
$200 Is crazy to me! I don’t see it!
