I’m getting married next December. My colors are brown and green. I don’t want to spend a ton on fresh flowers. What do you think about centerpieces incorporating green, brown, and gold ornaments, candles, pine cones and fresh evergreen branches? Would that be wedding-y enough with out traditional flower centerpieces?

Wedding centerpieces are generally considered to be important determinants of your personal taste. As the name suggest, “centerpiece” is something which is the focal point of attention. So it certainly has to be exclusive and marvelous, so that your wedding can be a huge success. It is necessary to carefully plan out your wedding centerpiece for giving that extra glam to the entire decoration.
Floral centerpieces are the most popular ones chosen by people because of their unique and elegant look. However, if you are looking for something fresh, modern and exquisite, consider the displays of submerged flowers. One of the trendiest wedding trends nowadays is to fill tall, clear glass cylinders with water and then submerge flowers in these vessels. It is a unique concept and attracts everybody in the party.
There are a number of flowers that work quite well in submerged centerpieces. Some of them are tulips, orchids, berries, roses, lilies and amaryllis. You can use some other flowers than these ones, but they are the hot favorite choice of most couples. It is pretty important to keep the right color combination in mind. Choose flowers that are an extension of your wedding theme.
It is very important to keep the right color combination in mind. Flowers should be chosen in accordance with other colors for a very pleasing aesthetic. For example, you can choose colors that match with the colors in the bridesmaid’s dresses.
Try to be as creative as possible. For example, you can mound small black pebbles in the bottom of the cylinder or place some sandstones or sand in the base. If you want an opulent evening look, then Swarovski crystals make fantastic elements in the bottom of your vessels.
A cool or sexy centerpiece will gain applauds or praises from every guests who is present there to grace this wonderful occasion.
I’m looking for either rectangular or cylindrical clear glass vases for my wedding centerpieces. I’m planning to be simple – red roses. Black, ivory and red wedding colors. Thanks for your thoughts!
I’ve checked out Michaels, Hobby Lobby and the DollarTreeDirect site. The first two had what I was looking for. I’m trying to get a grouping of vases for the centerpiece – so maybe 3-5 of varying sizes. Because of that – the cost adds up quickly. I’m still not opposed to just getting one and doing candles or something else small around the bigger, main vase.
