High End Destination Wedding Photography

Saturday, September 11th, 2010

Wedding Photography is a concoction of an interesting profession and a highly creative venture that takes into account preserving the unforgettable moments of the golden times of an individual’s life. Wedding photography services would include the entire array from wedding announcement, engagement and ceremony to reception. Gone are the days of analog photos; technological advancement has paved the way for digital photography which has added new dimension to wedding photography too. A professional wedding photographer shoots primarily two types of photographs, namely, traditional and photojournalistic. While the earlier deals with conventional practice of photographs with specific poses, the latter is all about informal and spontaneous photos. Along with these, many contemporary styles of photography are emerging making the entire concept a lot more dynamic. Wedding photography is evolving with changing times and still continues to be an utmost important wing of wedding activities.

A perfect wedding photographer only can take care of the three important factors associated with wedding photography; cost, skill and labor. The photographer has to be alert throughout the event taking care of every detail so that nothing gets missed out! That is why wedding couples always prefer hiring professionals for the shoot instead of having family and friends doing the same. Unlike traditional wedding photos, the modern ones are full of varieties. This requires specific skill sets on the part of the photographer. Observing every subtle detail is an important as capturing the same with mastery! Post photography operations include considerable time and labor whereby compilation gets done.

Bride and groom are the chief attractions of a wedding ceremony. Hence they are the focus of the photographer too. The special day of the couple and their involvement in different activities set the mood of a wedding album. Photographers interact with the couple and avail every opportunity to shoot their expressions and activities. Apart from the couple, family, friends, best man, bride’s maid, flower girls and the ring bearers too are significant subjects of a photographer.

Wedding photography has reached new heights with the concept of destination weddings. A high end destination wedding photographer captures the most romantic and beautiful day of a bride and the groom in an exotic getaway which gives an added dimension to the photographs. Wedding flowers, cakes and decorations eventually fade away from our memory; but what stay back are the treasured moments captured in a frame.

A well planned wedding always takes into account efficient photography services as photos need to be shot simultaneously with the ongoing ceremony.

Unlike traditional wedding photography which used to be more time-consuming and monotonous, modern wedding photography is dynamic, being inspired by the styles and patterns as seen in wedding magazines. Efficient photography not only makes wedding event a success; it also provides a lively and unique touch to the ceremony by framing all those precious moments which will never ever come back!

What Do You Admire About Wedding Photography?

Friday, September 10th, 2010

Photography is one of only a few physical items that couples will hold on to from their wedding day, and for that reason alone, wedding couples need to learn what options are available to them, and which are ideal for their wedding day.

As you start to plan your wedding, one question you need to ask yourself is – what kind of wedding pictures do I admire?

To help you better understand your options, here are four elements that many couples admire and love in wedding photography. Professional wedding photographers make taking pictures look so easy – yet, so much happens prior to the wedding day, behind the scenes, as well as the photographer’s vision that makes us admire these four photographic elements.

#1: A Strong Photo-journalistic Style of Photography

So many brides LOVE a photo-journalistic style. Essentially this means that your photographer does not direct or orchestrate the pictures. The photographer’s job is only to document the day, as it occurs, without disrupting the flow of events. A photographer who shoots in this style of photography, strongly values that the day should progress naturally, without staging or posing every moment. It is the actions and reactions of people who attend your wedding that will have the biggest impact photographically. Many love this style because the photo-journalistic approach yields pictures that evoke the most emotion.

#2: Traditional Portraits

While candid photography captures emotion and relies on spontaneity, many couples request to photograph the traditional portraits as well. Traditional portraits, also called formals, are planned pictures that the couple and the photographer must organize at some point during the wedding day.

The fact is, a wedding, can be a great opportunity to record the whole family tree and the new family that is also just beginning.  Many couples believe that these pictures are very important because this event happens only once with all of these people gathered at the same time. Having these traditional portraits means that you can refer to them when you want or need to, a visual record of some of the closest people in your lives.  Imagine for a moment…this is the one day when most or all your loved ones are in the same place at the same time – you may not get a second chance.

#3: Creative Portraits

Traditional portraits sometimes lack the emotional impact that couples yearn for on their wedding day, and is typically the reason why many couples don’t prioritize them. One solution is to go beyond the traditional portrait and create something that is unique to the wedding couple. A creative portrait can define the essence of your wedding day and who you are as a couple. Although this creative portrait is a planned situation, it should feel relaxed or has just happened spontaneously. The success of a creative portrait is its emotional impact on the wedding couple.

#4: Love in the Details

You know the saying…”love is in the details.” This applies to wedding photography also. Brides (sometimes grooms!) work so hard to make everything just right. The details can be a reflection or give insight to the couple’s personality and passions. Details and found objects captured throughout the wedding day, will help complete the wedding story visually.

Selecting a Pro for Your Wedding Photography

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

There are some tasks on your wedding checklist that you can choose to perform at a lesser standard. Deciding which tasks fall into this category takes a bit of judgment and skill. One aspect of your wedding that you definitely don’t want to skimp on is wedding photography. Unless you can stand the risk of having a wedding album full of headless images, make sure your wedding photography plan includes someone who has experience with photographing weddings.

To select someone to provide your wedding photography, it is a good idea to interview a few and then make a selection. You may feel that you are not qualified to conduct such an interview. If you don’t know anything about wedding photography, a photographer could literally tell you anything and you would be forced to almost believe it. Instead of showing your ignorance, ask the potential photographer questions, particularly what equipment they typically use for wedding photography. You should also do your homework. Perform a quick search on the Internet and find out what is standard equipment for wedding photography. Also research enough so that what the photographer tells you isn’t completely foreign to you. The photographer will also appreciate your interest in his or her topic of interest.

Typical wedding photography includes shots of the wedding party. One option is to schedule a wedding photography shoot before the wedding ceremony and display the pictures at your wedding reception. With this option your wedding party is prepared and in order. If you choose to have the wedding photography shoot of the wedding party after the wedding ceremony, there is the issue of bad weather if the wedding is held outdoors or other issues popping up. Make sure the wedding photography you hire is flexible and is prepared in case the venue changes. Most professional photographers will be prepared, but it is a good idea to make sure ahead of time.

Wedding photography like most aspects of a wedding is built on tradition. The tradition is to provide the bride and groom an album and proofs. If you are interested in more pictures or have a wedding photography idea, talk to the photographer about it. They may be willing to make changes to what they offer without charging you extra. Also ask the cost of additional wedding photography opportunities that may become available. If Oprah happens to stop by for your wedding, you want to make sure the photographer will snap a picture of her with you and other members of your wedding party.
