Shopping For Photo Frames That Match Your Home D?cor

Sunday, October 3rd, 2010

Finding the perfect designer picture frame is easier and less expensive than you might think. As in most things, a little bit of planning goes a long ways. So, here are some of what you should consider.

How many photos are you looking to frame? If the answer is more than one, you can try to group the photos into common themes-family, vacation, specific celebration, etc. Some great looking frames are two or three panels separated by hinges that allow the frame to stand freely. Others have multiple openings, often called collage frames. There are even frames specifically for families with photos of three or four generations to display.

What size photos are you looking to frame? When you shop online, most of the standard photo sizes can be accommodated: 2 x 3, 4 x 5, 5 x 7, 8 x 10, etc. Usually, these come in either portrait (vertical) or landscape (horizontal) format. The format question is particularly important for some theme picture frames because they may be designed for only one of the formats.

Is this to be a gift? If so, you can tailor your picture frame gift to almost any occasion: new baby, wedding, anniversary, little league or school sports team, or family. Sometimes, the name of the occasion is written right on the frame. The Three Generations and Four Generations frames mentioned above actually have those words embossed or printed right on the frame. This makes a huge difference, because everyone who sees it is immediately awestruck by the event. When you order online, you can usually have the frame gift-wrapped for the occasion. Talk about convenience! For example, if you have been invited to a wedding, a wedding picture frame sent gift wrapped with a greeting to the bride will really be appreciated. The ordering process takes between 5 and 10 minutes at the most.

If the photo frames are for your own display, where are you looking to put the photos? Do you have a family photo wall? Are these going onto a shelf or mantle? If so, questions such as lighting, background color, and layout should all be taken into account. And what is the overall feel of the room for the display? For example, a modern-style Bauhaus type frame would clash with a Victorian d?cor. A more ornate frame won’t fit with a room with modern Scandinavian furniture. As for the color of the background wall, this will have an impact on which material the ideal frame is made from. Black lacquer frames look great in some areas, warmer rich wood tones look better in other areas.

Department stores often have a wide selection of standard frames, in all sizes and materials. However, you can usually find exactly what you are looking for on the internet because the selection is much broader.

And after this planning, you might decide that you would like a unique photo album so that you can clean out those snapshots you have been keeping just in case. The point here is to select a truly outstanding photo album that people will naturally admire and be curious about. Surprisingly, you don’t have to spend an arm and a leg to own a great photo album. For example, you can find a photo album whose cover is entirely made of tropical leaves and bark, with acid-free inner pages, for under $35!

Yes, it is possible to find the perfect frame or album that will call out to you every time you or your guests glance in that direction. And you can fit this into your budget with the help of a specialized online picture frame store.

Wedding Photojournalism Photography – Storybook Photography Defined

Friday, October 1st, 2010

Just as the term “Google it” and facebook have become common household phrases in today’s world, wedding photojournalism is becoming the same way. Over the years, photography has evolved and changed, moving away from the more traditional style photos to a candid unposed style of shooting that catches the individuals in action, living life, and experiencing reality.

Photojournalism Defined

To understand what wedding photojournalism is, it is better to explain what photojournalism is in general. With photojournalistic photography, it is almost as if you can feel the breath that the person is breathing. You can see the flicker in his or her eyes. The laughter looks as if you can actually hear it ringing in your ears .The style of photojournalism tells the story through the images, unposed and unplanned. The pictures are raw, real, and natural. It is almost as if you are watching a documentary where a specific tone is set and the events are relatable to the person looking at the images.

Evolution of Wedding Photojournalism

Over the years, people began to waiver from the traditional direction from the photographers. Instead, the moments were allowed to unfold as natural and organically as possible. The term “wedding photojournalism” was actually penned by Denis Reggie, a former sports photographer, in 1980.  He, along with others in the genre felt that this style of photography was more memorable and precious. However, each photographer has his or her own opinion of photojournalism and looks at the style very objectively. Although content is the most important element in shooting in a wedding photojournalistic style, choosing what to take pictures of, how to correctly expose it, the way the image should be cropped, and editing techniques are always debated. Because in the photojournalistic photography style the interpretation is up to the viewer, it is rare that two photographers will ever interpret the same scene or the same photo the same way.

Wedding Photojournalism Techniques

Photojournalistic wedding photographers always do their best to somewhat melt into the background when shooting a wedding. The goal is to stay unnoticed and be as inconspicuous as possible. While photographers do put together and gather groups for wedding group photos and formal portraits, the main style centers around the photojournalistic feel. The key method of delivering wedding and engagement photos to the clients is in chronological order – with wedding photojournalism and engagement photojournalism, it is very important that the images be viewed in order. Photojournalism embodies the telling of a story and this way, the viewer can see and experience the day moment to moment.

The Standard of Wedding Photojournalism

Shooting in a photojournalistic style requires the skill, talent, and experience necessary to view a scene and interpret it in a photojournalistic and creative way. While many amateur and professional photographers can shoot a wedding in a semi-photojournalistic style, the experience increases the value of your photography, assuring clients that in this genre, you truly have the training and background to portray this style of wedding photojournalism. I encourage ambitious and motivated photographers to apply to shoot with a photojournalistic wedding photographer and shadow photographers working out in the field. Photojournalistic photographers have worked hard to hone their skills over the years and are most are more than willing to share their knowledge of photojournalism with others who desire to learn!

The photo shoot is to make memories for a lifetime and I enjoy making photographs special. Something out of the ordinary. It takes doing some homework to make that happen. I would like to share things you can do to make the images even more special.

That said, if you decide to go to a professional photographer, there are things I can share with you from my experience that will ensure that you get the photos of your dreams while making the photographer’s job easier, as well. Paying for family photos is a treat, so pamper yourself accordingly.

1) Make sure you have your hair and make-up professionally done. Nothing can make or break your photo op like a bad make-up job. If you’re spending money on a professional photographer, go the extra mile for good make-up and hair. No matter where you live, there is someone who’s skilled at doing make-up for print ads, magazines etc. Go online or ask your photographer who they recommend.

2) Clothes: it’s tough enough to choose an outfit just to go to the store, right? So don’t torture yourself to find that one right outfit for yourself and everyone in your family. Go ahead and bring a few different choices and let your photographer decide. They know what colors and shapes look best on camera and having that input will make you feel at ease with your final choice.

3) Have an idea of what you like stylistically. One way to do that is go to your photographer’s website and find pictures that you really like. If your photographer doesn’t have a website, it’s okay to go to another website and print out a few to give your person an idea of what you’re looking for.

4) Talk with your photographer before the shoot. Discuss ideas. When you go to get a haircut from someone new, you don’t just hop in the chair and let them start chopping, right? It’s the same with getting your family’s pictures done. You and your photographer both want the same thing – for you to be satisfied with the end result. So communicate your needs and talk over any concerns you may have BEFORE you arrive.

5) Location, location, location! This is an important part of your photography experience. You will want to know what type of background you’ll have to choose from. Do you want your pictures outside and natural or with a plain backdrop? Most photographers will be happy to offer suggestions but if you have a preference (say you don’t like to be shot against a black background), make sure you’re clear on this beforehand.

6) Is there a special necklace, locket or keepsake that you want in your photograph? Be sure to bring it with you and let your photographer know that you’d like it to be seen in the photograph. They will do their best to accommodate you.

7) If you have a special purpose for the photographs such as your holiday card, a family album or modeling shots, let your photographer know. This is definitely important information and may influence different aspects of your shoot. Your photographer may want to use a different camera lens or try a background that will be more suitable for what you want.

8) Pick a photographer you feel comfortable with. If you don’t like your photographer’s style it will show in your pictures. You may end up looking forced or just plain not in the spirit of the thing. It’s your day and your wallet, so be choosy!

9) Some people have no preconceived ideas for what they want and that’s okay too. As long as you are open and already like your photographer’s work, your photographer should be able to get you something you love.

Lastly,

Have fun! You’ve got your outfit and your family’s got theirs, your hair and make-up is beautiful, the background is chosen and you’ve discussed all the pertinent details with your photographer, it’s time to relax and let them do their thing. Go with the flow and just remember to smile.

Tips On Making The Best Digital Wedding Photography Even Better

Sunday, September 26th, 2010

Brides and grooms alike are now enlisting the expertise of professionals to get the best digital wedding photography for that special occasion. And why not? They would surely want to have the best photo taken so that the memories will be preserved as long as they live.

More and more people are now shifting to the use of digital cameras to take pictures of their wedding. One of the reasons for this is that the quality is better compared to the traditional camera. Another reason is that the photos can be stored not only in their hard-bound albums but also on albums online.

Today, people are more dependent on their computers than ever before. With computers, they can easily upload their wedding pictures and share them with family and friends all over the world. You do not have to rely on snail mails just to send your pictures. They are being sent and viewed the minute you have them in your computer.

This is one of the many advantages of digital photography. If taken properly, you are assured that you and you partner will never regret having used digital photography for your wedding pictures.

Below are some of the tips to get the best digital photography for your wedding.

1. Choose the right background.

Photos can really look great once they are shot with the perfect background. You can use the decorations in the church and in the reception areas as a back draft for your photos. Be sure to fix some scattered decorations so that they will appear simply perfect on photos.

Always remind the photographer to check if the view is good when taking pictures. It does not mean that you have to stand on the same corner or place. The best photographer is able to make even the simplest of background look great on photo if it is taken in the right angle.

2.  Look out for any kinds of glass.

Glasses tend to cause reflections in photos. May it be an eyeglass, window or wine glasses.  One way or another, they will cause a reflection or brightness to reflect back on the camera it is included in the picture.

To avoid this, the position of the camera can be altered so that it will not directly hit the glass. The photo can be taken sideways or downwards but never on eye level.

3. The perfect timing.

Persons being photographed should not always be looking at the camera. And they do not have to be smiling at the lens too.

One way of doing it is to wait for the right moment so that you can have a candid shot at them. You will see that catching persons on film when they are in their candid state is much better than having them wearing a fixed expression. Candid moments make photos look real and natural.

4. Review each photo.

To maximize the memory that your digital camera has, it is best to review every shot taken. There might be duplicates that can be removed so that you can free more space for a different shot.

You will probably want the best and the maximum number of digital wedding photography shots so you need to make the most of the capacity of the digital camera.

The best wedding photography is made even better now with digital cameras. This is one thing that you definitely should have on your special day.

Assortments Abound For Your Save The Date Wedding Magnets

Saturday, September 25th, 2010

Picking out the different patterns of your save the date wedding magnets is not as easy as it used to be when there weren’t so many internet companies around.  Some people consider this a positive, because they can find exactly what they want.   The following list is only a small sample of the vast selections that are available to you today.

Wedding Rings Save The Date Wedding Magnets

Wedding rings are the way to go if you really want to go with the wedding theme.  You won’t have much of a selection with colors here.  Gold.  Silver.  And that’s about it.  Exhibit your romantic photo with your rings and you’ve got it made.

Beach Save The Date Wedding Magnets

Many people get a picture taken of themselves strolling along the shore with the sun setting in the background.  Others choose to be more outgoing splashing each other in the water.  If you’d prefer not to have your picture on it, you can go with beach type designs such as shells or palm trees.  Look to make another decision here, too, whether you go with actual photographs or some artists design of a sandy beach, swaying palm tree, or a cute beach ball.

Calendar Save The Date Wedding Magnets

Searching the internet for companies that offer choice will yield results.  In your searches, you might find the perfect pre-made style.  As you perform your research, look for your specific interests, whether it’s rings, beaches or lighthouses.  Don’t spend hours upon hours searching through styles that won’t suit you.  Following these steps should set you off in the right direction in finding the perfect save the date magnets for your wedding.

Disposable cameras for wedding photography in cherry hill nj

Friday, September 24th, 2010

Disposable wedding cameras (also called single-use cameras) will never replace a professional photographer in the cherry hill NJ area, of course. But they could save money on the overall photo budget, provide memorable fun for you and your guests, and occasionally turn up a priceless casual shot.

Disposable low-price wedding cameras are a popular wedding favor at many wedding receptions. These cameras are placed on each wedding guest table, usually accompanied by a printed card encouraging guests to use these cameras throughout the reception to capture unforgettable moments that may be missed by the Cherry Hill NJ professional photographer. While the cherry hill professional photographer is busy orchestrating beautiful pictures of the wedding party and family, many things are taking place throughout the reception that are well worth capturing on film. Wedding guests may use these cameras just like any other camera, simply point and shoot.

There are a huge variety of choices. Disposable wedding cameras are available in many styles to accommodate just about any wedding theme. Most cameras include Kodak, Fuji or AGFA film with 15 to 27 exposures per camera; 24 exposures is most common. Often you can save even more money by buying cameras in large quantities.

One popular choice is a unique low-price disposable wedding camera that includes 10 different backgrounds. You may also choose from different designs, colors, and lettering styles. A great green wedding

Dressed in white can have a green twist. There are a number of ways to make your perfect day as environmentally friendly as possible. Here are some important ideas to consider for a great <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://www.thegreenpages.com.au”>green</a> wedding:

Invitations - everyone knows that the right paper stock is one of the most important decisions you can make when it comes to pre wedding day planning. But instead of going for a heavy card stock with environmentally damaging gloss or matte, consider if you need to have paper invitations at all!

Many wedding websites have sprung up to allow couples to plan their day and give guests all the information they need in paper saving electronic format. Couples can upload photos, tell their special story and direct guests to their registry on line. Many also have an RSVP feature so you can manage your list with a few clicks of the mouse. You and your mother can argue over background colours and menu patterns to your hearts ‘content!

Dress – The right dress makes the memories. That doesn’t mean you need to spend a small fortune (not to mention create a heavy environmental cost) with a tailor made piece that will just sit in your wardrobe for years to come. Consider vintage pieces or family pieces, there is nothing more sentimental to your mother, than walking down the aisle in same dress she wore back in the day. (You can tailor and amend it to suit your own taste and fashion of course!) Meanwhile, some companies create beautiful custom made pieces from sustainable fabrics , such as hemp, bamboo or organic cotton. Some even “upcycle” older gowns.

Gifts – Do you really want to face the possibility of ending up with two chip dippers or a variety of toasters that you’ll have some trouble returning? You can use your special day to promote some well deserving charities and eco causes. Ask your guests to make a donation to your favourite in lieu of presents, then you can be sure you’re getting the exact model of kettle you want!

Flowers – Consider the season when picking your flower arrangements. Out of season arrangements are often shipped from overseas adding to miles and emissions. There are also a number of issues regarding the ethics of the cut flower industry, with many sources citing cheap labour and unfair work conditions. Australia is abundant with beautiful species of wattles, banksias and colourful kangaroo paws for a truly unique look. Better yet, go organic!

Food – Organic caterers are all the rage. They provide some of the best food that you know is pesticide free and delightfully delicious. Look for a baker that uses organic eggs and flour and other sustainable ingredients.

Venue and transport – Pick a venue that’s easy to get to and encourage your guests to carpool, or better yet, provide some shuttle bus transport yourself. Having the reception in the same place as the ceremony also cuts down on travel and emissions.

Rings – Eco is a girl’s best friend. Lots of great companies “up cycle” jewellery from older pieces. Take in an old family heirloom and have it recrafted to create your own one of a kind piece.
