Making Money With Digital Photography – Wedding Photography

Monday, July 19th, 2010

Wedding only comes once in a lifetime and people are willing to hire a photographer for it. Imagine that you are having a wedding. Don’t you want to get someone professional to capture the most precious moment of your life?

As a photographer, how do you make money with wedding photography?

Of course the first thing you need is a portfolio.

When you want to be hired as a wedding photographer, this is something you need to invest into. Properly design the layout and the display of your photographs. You need to make your portfolio as unique as possible because wedding is a special event and the couples are not interested in common works that they can find anywhere. Your main focus is to impress your potential clients as they flip through your portfolio.

What if you are just starting out to make money with wedding photography and have no portfolio?

Then, you can work free for your friends, if you are okay with that. After that, get their consent so that you can use their photos as your portfolio. Remember to ask for testimonials. The more testimonials you have the easier you will be hired as a wedding photographer.

Another way for you to make money with wedding photography is to make contact with wedding planners. Wedding couples usually will turn to wedding planners for a photographer. When you have good relationships with the wedding planners, they will refer more business to you.

What you can do is to give discount to clients referred by these wedding planners only. The wedding couples will be grateful to the planners and the planners will be happy that they did the couples a favor and you got business from that. There is nothing better than to make money while keeping everyone happy.

Since you are building relationship with the wedding planners, why not extend your relationship to your local bridal shops, wedding chapels or wedding cake bakeries? You can ask for a space to display your brochures and a small portfolio. You never know that the shop owner is more than happy to help you make money with wedding photography.

The Whole New World Of Digital Wedding Photography

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

When it comes to your wedding day, choosing the appropriate vendors can help you showcase your personality and create the type of day that you have been dreaming of for a lifetime. From the food and the flowers to the dress and the music, every detail is attended to with great love and passion. The wedding photography, above all else, is the detail that will have the most lasting impact on your day, as your photos will be that which you share with generations of family to come in order to give them a glimpse into your special day. Further, your wedding photos will be your keepsake for a lifetime, bringing you back to that special moment in time. Digital wedding photography has taken this long held tradition and brought it into the modern world where it can make its truly spectacular mark.

Digital wedding photography utilizes digital technology to capture your wedding day. The obvious advantage – during the actual event – is that the photographer has the ability to see the results on the spot and retake the picture if necessary. This is a once in a lifetime event. And in the past, there was no opportunity for retake had a picture turned out poorly. This would have been especially devastating if photos were taken of elderly relatives or people you don’t often see; gone was a moment in time that you were not able to successfully capture. But today’s digital wedding photography gives an immediate second chance to capture that never-to-be-repeated moment. The benefit of this is indescribable.

The other advantages of digital wedding photography occur after the actual wedding. No longer must couples wait for lengthy developing in order to view their wedding pictures and decide what they would like included in an album. Digital wedding photography can be downloaded onto a computer and instantly seen – saving enormous time and expense for all parties involved. Of course, the inclusion of the computer provides the opportunity for color correction and further enhancing at the click of a button.

But perhaps the most significant benefit to digital wedding photography is the opportunity to share your wedding day with family and friends far and wide regardless of whether or not they were able to attend your big day. Digital wedding pictures downloaded on the computer can be instantly accessed and seen all over the world. Further, family and friends can choose to order prints if they so choose – avoiding the expense of copying and sending pictures to multitudes of people.

Digital wedding photography is a contemporary component in the traditional world of weddings – bringing this time honored tradition into the modern world.

Using Digital Photos And Other Photos To Create An Anniversary Montage

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

Old Wedding Pictures

Digital photos do offer the best looking results because of the quality of the pictures that can be taken. However, an anniversary montage is also a very good opportunity to update old wedding photos or old family photos. Either scan the pictures yourself, and even create the montage using these pictures yourself, or you can again let the photo printing service you use do the scanning for you to ensure the best results.

Modern Digital Photos

Digital photos are the best type of picture or image file to use because they have the highest resolution, when compared to scanned pictures and pictures from other sources. The modern digital camera offers a huge selection of automatic and advanced settings ensuring that even the most novice of photographers can enjoy decent photographic results. Rather than storing these pictures on your hard drive or online, have them converted into an incredible anniversary montage and printed on incredible photo gifts such as montage canvas prints.

Creating Your Own Photo Montage

Creating a montage yourself is reasonably simple. Use software like Microsoft Publisher, import the pictures that you’ve stored on your hard drive, and then stretch, rotate, and place the pictures in the position that you want them. By creating your own montage you can enjoy a sense of satisfaction that you don’t get by having one created for you. However, if you’re not confident of creating your own montage then you may instead opt to have it done professionally.

Having A Professional Photo Montage Created

A professional photo montage typically offers a level of quality that you can’t achieve yourself. The montage can be created using virtually any number of pictures and using your choice of design style. A finished copy of the montage is then emailed to you so that you can approve the design or ask for any changes. It’s important that you request changes at this stage because once approved, the design cannot be altered.

Choosing Montage Style

Four styles of photo montage exist. Photos can be overlapped to ensure that the whole canvas is covered with photos. Photo frame borders can be printed around each of the printed pictures and placed on the canvas, which includes one of your pictures as the background of the picture. A collage uses a large number of small pictures to create the collage effect and the filmstrip montage is a unique style that uses up to seven images printed on canvas with a filmstrip style border printed around it.

Adding An Anniversary Montage To Unique Photo Gifts

The montage canvas print is the most popular photo gift because the quality of the tight weave HD Satin canvas offers incredible photo reproduction and photo realism levels. However, a selection of other gifts such as blankets and cushions, as well as posters and even duvet covers or roller blinds can be customised with the addition of an anniversary montage.

Photo montage prints and other photo montage gifts can be given as a gift to any recipient for any event. Visit the bagsoflove.co.uk website now to see these and many other unique items like montage canvas prints.

Wedding Photography – Going Digital Creates More Creative Images

A wedding event is a once in a lifetime opportunity. For sure, you want to hire the best photographer to capture every precious moment of the event. Wedding photography doesn’t just require technical skills. It is also an art. So how to you assess a wedding photographer? What makes someone stand out so much that you simply must hire him or her?

The mark of a good wedding photographer.

A good photographer doesn’t just depend on the tools to take wonderful photographs. Of course, having great photography equipment like expensive cameras, lenses, etc. makes life easier for the photographer. But the true photography master knows how to play with the light and the environment to create stunning photos. Much is dependent on the photographer’s judgment, experience, creativity, and thought process.

It has always been the case that the greatest thought masters make great photographers. Their work reflect their philosophy and they have the skills (honed to perfection through the years) to carry their messages across in the images. You are looking for such a person as a wedding photographer for the special day.

All wedding photographers have previous work that you can assess. From the portfolio, you will be able to tell the level of technical skills that a photographer possess. Take note of the couple’s expression in the photos. A good photographer should be able to get the couple to relax and smile so that even under difficult conditions (e.g. hot weather), the couple comes across as posing comfortably and happily.

Digital photography helps express creativity.

Sometimes, mistakes are made during photo shoots. Traditionally, such mistakes are costly because they cannot be easily corrected. Fortunately, due to the availability of digital technology, photographers can express their creativity to the fullest.

As the photo shoot progresses, don’t forget to communicate to your photographer the type of images you are looking for. The look and feel of the photos will change with different poses, different clothes, different settings, etc. But you should at least provide the general direction so that when all the digital images are brought back to the studio, they can be edited and processed to produce the perfect photos that you are looking for.

On the computer, there’s nothing that can’t be done. The lighting can be adjusted, defects cut out, backgrounds can be changed, etc. To create the perfect wedding photos, try to spend some time with your photographer during edits. Make an appointment to spend about an hour or two with the photographer in front of the computer. As the photographer moves and edits the photos, voice out your opinions.

Don’t be afraid to make drastic changes just to try out some special effects. For example, you can use smoke elements to create a more romantic mood if you find the original photo to look too mundane. You may also replace the background to create the illusion that you are in another country. The best part about digital photography is that you can always revert the changes and the photo will go back to its original image. With digital photography, creativity can be unleashed without limitations.

One of the main advantages of digital photography is that hundreds of photos can be taken – then the best ones chosen for printing. Unlike traditional photography using 35mm film where each photo had to be printed out. This limited the amount of photos that could be took on the day – so there was less chance of getting a perfect set of photos.

Follow these fantastic tips to take the best digital photos at your wedding:

<b>Be sure to choose the correct background</b> By choosing the correct background you will instant enhance and improve your photos. Use the decorations from the church or simply scatter decoration around for that perfect photo.

<b>Beware of glass refection</b> As glass tends to reflect quite badly on a photo avoid this sort of photo that could include glass. This could be spectacles, wine glasses or a window in the background. This can be avoided by positioning the camera correctly in such a way that the light will not directly hit the glass.

<b>Timing the photos</b> Guests need not always be smiling directly into the cameras so photos can be taken in a candid manner. This will give a more natural feel to the photos.

<b>Be sure to review each photo</b> Make sure you look at the photos to make sure you are happy with how they are being taken. You can never take enough digital photos on a wedding day and make sure you are generally happy with them.

These days no-one can do without a digital camera and for a wedding day they offer so many benefits and advantages.

Once you receive your wedding photos what better way to view them than with an electronic picture frame. The author?s great website provides really helpful information on Sony digital photo frames as well as a wide range of digital photography equipment.

Digital Wedding Photography Basics

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

Professional wedding photographers constantly dispute the merits of digital photography versus the more standard film photography. This is a natural debate as our world becomes more digitized. Most people have or can borrow a digital camera. These types of cameras can do much more than a standard film camera. When the time comes to decide on our wedding photography, it is only natural that we would consider digital wedding photography.

Digital cameras have enjoyed improved quality over the past several years. Rather than the traditional 35mm camera, there are more options available for professional wedding photographers. They are willing to take a chance with new technology. Digital wedding photography is gaining credibility among professional photographers and, in time. many people will not be able to tell the difference between traditional and digital wedding photos.

In a majority of instances, digital cameras provide many notable benefits. Utilizing a digital camera gives the photographer the added advantage of immediate feedback. This would allow him to take more difficult shots or shots that may not turn out very well as he could correct them later if need be. A wedding photographer needs to be prepared for the need to use ambient light in their pictures. The option of taking more shots is certainly another advantage. Also, the photographer can take as many pictures as they’d like; after all, you only have to buy a memory card once, whereas film needs to be replaced often.

Another major advantage of digital wedding photography is that all of the settings are internal. Changing film speeds or the roll of film is fast and easy; the photographer can make the necessary adjustments without interrupting anything.

A lot of newly married couples like to have a photo album as well as having their pictures available in a digital format. Moving digital photographs electronically is easier and cheaper than the alternative of scanning film photos. Also, digital photos are easily manipulated to suit the desires of the couple. For example, certain photos can be printed in black and white or sepia tones.

One of the main disadvantages to having digital photos taken at the wedding is that a lot of photographers are not completely aware of how to use the new styles. In a number of ways, digital photography and film photography differ greatly, and even the most gifted and skilled wedding photographers are not at the top of their game when it comes to digital photography. When making a decision on a digital wedding photographer, you should always find out how long the photographer has been practicing digital photography. Also ask to see copies of both his film work and his digital work for comparison purposes.

It is obvious that digital wedding photography is turning into a more in-demand option for both professional wedding photographers and couples as well. Still, your choice depends on your own situation. Even though cameras are “point-and-click,” any photographer you decide on should have a certain skill level. Our personal digital cameras provide extra features and enhanced functions that are sure to please the majority of the population who owns or is in the market for a new digital camera. You should view as many portfolios as possible. To determine what works best for you, try both digital and traditional film.

Digital Wedding Photography – Useful Information

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

What would a wedding be without photographs; just how much would the bride and groom remember a few years later; the beauty of digital wedding photography is the speed at which you can see and distribute the images, around the world if required. Digital photography may have replaced film but people still like to see photographs they can handle!

The hardest thing if you are a friend or relation is trying to take photographs of the wedding day that they will be pleased with. This article highlights a few basic techniques and styles for anyone who wants to capture a friend or family members wedding using a digital camera.

Most importantly try to ensure you don’t have poor background scenery and that there aren’t too many people in the shot. Often when there is a good background there are just too many people in the shot, so if this is the situation, just try and capture a nice head and shoulders shot of the couple.

If there is bright sunlight or you are using flash, ask guests who are wearing glasses to remove them just for the shot or as an alternative they could turn their head slightly to the side. If there’s a couple or a group that you wish to include in the picture, you should use the zoom function in to get the ideal image but do not shoot against the light so that dark images appear.

Natural, wedding photos always look better than staged ones but difficult to capture when you are too close so a powerful zoom lens is a great advantage. Allays be ready for the next digital wedding photograph because you can’t ask people to repeat those unforgettable moments that everybody wants to see again and again.

The last thing you want to happen is for your digital camera to have half charged batteries and a memory card that is already half full as it will restrict how many shots you can take. For 6 mega pixel cameras and up, the absolute bare minimum should be a 1 gigabyte card, preferably 2 gigabytes and always use the highest resolution your camera can manage if the images are to be printed.

Always remember that the higher the resolution used, the larger the size of prints that can be made so always keep a secure copy of your work so you can re-use them in the future. Storing the wedding images on a computer or CD will mean that you can print them off whenever you want but a presentation CD can be played back on a TV.

If you have a passion for photography and a good relationship with the two people getting married then your digital wedding photography images should come out just fine.
