How can I make the little squares that some people put on front of their wedding invitations?

Saturday, September 25th, 2010

I’m making my own wedding invitations and on the front I would like (sorry I’m not sure what they are exactly called) the little square w/ our names. I’ve figured out the sizing and everything…but once I figure out what I want on the square and design it in Word or PowerPoint how do I print it so I have more than one on the paper and how do I get it so it will print small enough to fit on the square?

Butterscotch Wedding Cakes ? a Little Crunch With a Sweet Punch!

Sunday, August 8th, 2010

Nothing can make wedding more fun and enjoyable than delicious and mouth watering wedding cakes. Be it any flavor – black-forest, butterscotch, chocolate or any other, the very presence of wedding cakes make weddings auspicious and at the same time joyous. wedding cakes are available in exotic tastes and flavors, and here we would see the magic created by butterscotch wedding cakes.

Before we move on to butterscotch wedding cakes, let us first see – what is butterscotch? Butterscotch, basically, is a sweetened preparation, made by boiling butter, cream, and vanilla with sugar syrup. It is frequently used in making ice-creams, toffees, chocolates, pudding, biscuits, pastries, pies, donuts and cakes. Butterscotch is one of the most frequently used flavoring products. It is liked both by young as well as old, and therefore it is an ideal flavor for wedding cakes.

Butterscotch and toffee have the same ingredients and are prepared in very much the same way. The only difference lies in the timing. While the sugar is boiled till the soft crack stage in butterscotch, in case of toffees, the sugar is boiled till the hard crack stage.

Now, switching back to butterscotch wedding cakes, many weddings today are consecrated by butterscotch flavored cakes. Couples getting married decide on this flavor, because it is quite heart warming and cheerful. Beautifully decorated wedding cakes – taste great too. That just brings us to another point – decoration of the cakes. Many couples these days do not settle for ordinary, run of the mill decorations.

They search for extravagant decorations and awe inspiring cake toppings. Red roses look great on the butterscotch color and many couples order for multi-tier butterscotch wedding cakes covered with red roses. Plus there are other ideas for decoration as well. Many couples today, order online and express their desires in their cake decoration to have a wonderful time enjoying the cake together.

The Best Accessories to Add a Little Pizzazz to Your Plus Size Wedding Dresses

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

You can add a bit of life to your traditional, gorgeous plus size wedding dresses. Instead of merely settling for the “all white” look, go for something spunky, something a little less dull, something that represents you.

Plus size wedding dresses, however, need careful attention when it comes to accessorizing and spicing up. You need to be extremely careful in choosing colors, designs, patterns and beadworks. With careful research and an open mind, you can spice up your plus size wedding dresses to suit you perfectly.

How, you ask. Here are a few guidelines in adding a few frills to your plus size wedding dresses.

1. Go for subdued colors. When adding a splash of color to your plus size wedding dresses, add it near the hemlines. Choose your colors carefully in doing so. Be sure to choose subdued colors – subdued does not mean colors of mourning, mind you. Choose any of these pastels or neutral shades: tan, light grey, peach, light pink, light blue, light green or lilac. You may also go for metallic shades such as silvery grey, bronze or even matte gold. Do not risk patching up patterns such as stripes or plaid, and do not opt for bold colors such as bright red or neon green, neon orange or electric pink. These will drastically change the entire feel of your wedding dresses. Stick to the formal theme; do not go wild with the colors. It is also important to lock this in your head: No leopard prints, zebra prints or animal prints are allowed. There are no plausible excuse for humiliating yourself that way on your wedding day.

2. Go easy on the beadwork. Beadwork, sequins, embroidery, Swarovski crystals – these all make great wedding dress accessories. However, sprinkle them on your plus size wedding dresses minimally. You have to make sure you do not look like you are covered in ice or that you are not a walking disco ball. It would be safer if you seek the advice of bridal shop owners on the best means to accessorize your wedding dresses with beadworks, sequins and embroideries. With their years of experience in the business, they are sure to give you some pointers that would save you on your wedding day.

3. You can also opt to add in a few flowers in or on your hair. But be careful with this one because this is quite tricky. You would not want to end up looking like a wedding favor. Choose lovely, classy flowers, made into a beautiful halo. Do not go for the ordinary types or flowers which you can merely pluck out of the central garden – if you won’t get caught that is. Also, make sure that the “flower in your hair” theme goes well with your wedding theme. If you are having a formal church wedding, one that would very nearly rival those of Britain’s royal family, a halo of flowers is not exactly the perfect choice.

Your best armor in choosing the right accessories to make your wedding dress is your own judgment. Choose well.

Weddings Accessories – Little Things That Complete Your Wedding

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

How do you imagine your perfect wedding will be? Apart from knowing that you are set to spend the rest of your life with the man you love the most, haven’t you spent hours poring over every other detail surrounding the wedding? These wedding accessories indeed lend that special touch to one’s wedding by making it more personal and memorable. In all cultures, we find that a wedding ceremony lays special emphasis on certain things such as the clothes, flowers and so on. In fact, nothing seems more important than the clothes and embellishments in which the bride and groom are decked!

However, even the simplest of all dresses require certain accessories in order to look special. Most people opt to buy these accessories before anything else on the list. Today, the market thrives with plenty of choice. You could opt for any kind of embellishments, based on color, design, concept, themes and so on. They can be chosen by matching them with the attires that are to be worn on the day of the wedding. The importance of these embellishments is that they team up with the clothes to give the bride and the groom a complete look. It could be either extravagant or simple and understated, but embellishments are a must.

What Accessories to Choose

The most popular accessories for a bride are the tiara, veil, beautiful shoes and gloves. Some choose to wear gorgeous jewelry while others opt for nothing at all in order to set off the true beauty of the wedding gown. Choose a bouquet that goes with your dress and those that you have chosen for your bridesmaids. The groom could look into fine details such as the tie pin, a cravat, and bowtie, gold or silver cufflinks, proper socks that match with your shoes and so on. If your budget is not limited, you could opt for beautiful accessories for the pageboys and bridesmaids.

Things to Keep in Mind

Firstly, remember that buying these accessories will make your pocket considerably lighter. However, it would be a mistake to assume that they can be afforded only by the elite. For simple things like flowers, or beautiful hairpins and so on- one need not splurge beyond one’s budget. Do your bit of research and choose wisely. There are various outlets catering to such needs all over the city, visit any one and ask for their brochure. Choose something that you will be able to afford. You could order designs that are available ex-stock or customize them yourself.
In various countries, gold plays a very important role in the wedding ceremony. Most jewelry presented to the bride on her wedding day is made of gold. You might not like to splurge out such extravagant amounts on your wedding, and hence choose metals like silver or even pearls.

These little details help in making your wedding ceremony beautiful and memorable. You might not be able to wear your wedding dress on any other occasion post your marriage- but you could always use these accessories time and again. Go ahead and make your wedding special!
